So you want to find and nurture your passions, but where do you even begin? I’ve been there, friend. The idea of having a purpose, calling, or passion in the first is overwhelming and figuring out can seem impossible. Luckily for you, I have a small obsession with all things self-help and passions.
I’ve put together this list of all of my favorite resources in hopes that you will find a few to inspire you. As I come across more awesomeness, I will add it to the list!

From The Unabashed Life
The Fringe Hours: Making Time for You by Jessica N. Turner
If you have no idea where to begin when it comes to finding your passions and the time to pursue them, this is the book to start with. Jessica leads you through exercises and questions to pinpoint what it is that you are passionate about. And then she helps you let go of the guilt that stops you from making time to pursue your passions. I really enjoyed The Fringe Hours as a way to know myself better, and to figure out where I could make more time for my passions.
The Best Yes: Making Wise Decisions in the Midst of Endless Demands by Lysa TerKeurst
Lysa explores our tendency to confuse the command to love with the disease to please. When God loves it on our heart to move, we want to be able to give what she calls our Best Yes. Being available for God to use us to love others well or grow more in Him can easily be missed when we are trying to be everything to everyone. This is book everyone can relate to and needs to read whether you are passionate about pursuing your passions or not.
You may know Lara Casey from her Power Sheets, but did you know that she wasn’t always as focused on using her passions and gifts to love God and others? In Make It Happen she talks about her struggle of needing to control everything, and how once she surrendered it to God, her life changed dramatically. If you are ready to live on purpose, you need to check out this book. It’s one of my favorites.
Love Does: Discover a Secretly Incredible Life in an Ordinary World by Bob Goff
Bob believes in whimsy and loving people BIG—even in small ways. He shares his experiences of both receiving and giving love and how it’s changed his view of God. His stories inspired me to add some whimsy to my life, to say yes to loving others more often, and to look for opportunities to turn the ordinary into the incredible. If you haven’t read this book, yet, what are you waiting for?
Anything: The Prayer that Unlocked My God and My Soul by Jennie Allen
Jennie shares about when she and husband prayed, “God we will do anything. Anything.” She questions what’s stopping you for using your God-given talents and passions to do “anything” for God. It not easy, and it’s not comfortable, but she helps us see that it’s worth it.
